Appointments

You can request an appointment in the following ways:

All consultations are by appointment. Each appointment is 10 minutes, if you need a longer consultation please book a double appointment.

Please ensure you keep all appointments and arrive on time. If you arrive late for an appointment you may not be seen.

A patient is able to nominate their preferred clinician on an appointment basis. This preference will later be recorded in the patient’s notes.

Practice Nurses

In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse rather than a doctor. Practice nurses are qualified to deal with many conditions and you may be seen more quickly. You can arrange an appointment with a nurse online by completing the Request an appointment with a Nurse or Healthcare Assistant form.

Clinical Pharmacist

Our clinical pharmacist is able to see patients to discuss and review their medications.

Cancel an Appointment

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. You can let us know online by completing the Cancel an Appointment triage.

Failure to Attend

If you fail to attend three appointments without informing the surgery in a 12-month period, the practice will consider removing you from the list. You will then have to find an alternative GP practice in the local area.

Booking Routine Appointments by Telephone

For emergency cases only booking starts at 08:00.

To avoid disappointment please call after 08:30 to book routine appointments.

Making a routine appointment may be quicker using our online services. You can register for these by completing the Register for Online Services form.

Booking Appointments Online

Appointments can be booked online by registering for online access with the surgery (please ask at reception for details) or by downloading the MyGP App and following the instructions.

All appointments will be triaged by telephone prior to the patient being offered a face to face appointment (if this is deemed necessary).
